This week it was cleanse time for me – was I inspired by Spring in the air? Perhaps, but mostly I was driven by feelings of sluggishness, feeling a bit gloomy, and just knowing that I could feel much better!
The challenges of this year, like for everyone, have taken its toll on my nervous system. As one of many that lives life across the NSW and QLD border the last few months of border closures have caused me significant stress, not to mention being in lock down for a month. Needless to say, healthy routines went out the window, bad habits have crept in and good habits have slunk out the door.
Despite having Sol Cleanse Organic Juice Cleanses at my fingertips at all times, I still try to tune into my body as to when to cleanse. I can tell you my body was calling for it! And I’m so pleased to report as I write this on day 3, that I woke up this morning feeling fresh and bright after an excellent night’s sleep (for the first time in a while!), with a sense that all is well. Such a great reminder of what is possible when you cleanse, which makes me feel so grateful and a reignited sense of purpose to know that I can contribute in a small way to you being able to experience this too!
Curious about what cleanse I did?
Unsurprisingly after 10 years of Sol Cleanse I have got my favourites and like to pick and choose to create a custom cleanse. For this cleanse, I wanted it to be pretty light to honour the Spring vibes, but I also wanted to make sure I felt nourished, so I included fresh juices as well as soups. I chose the soups for a savoury balance and to fill me up and help me feel really grounded (as well as giving me a “meal” to sit down and enjoy with my daughter in the evenings). I have to say this really felt like the perfect combo for this cleanse.
This is what I chose, and the order I had them in;
Energise (First thing)
Elixir – Lemon, stevia, cayenne pepper, filtered water
I love Energise as a fresh way to start the day. To stimulate the liver and to prepare my digestion and metabolism for the day.
Juice – Beetroot, carrot, apple, ginger, lemon
I love the strength and richness of Love. Love is a classic cleanse juice and it feels so healthy and is also robust enough to feel like I’m getting some real substance as well so it can somewhat feel like breakfast.
Balance (Mid Morning)
Juice – Silverbeet, cos lettuce, cucumber, celery, parsley, lemon.
Balance is a favourite of mine – super green with no apples so it is a full on goodness punch! Balance is one of those juices that you feel undeniably that you’re doing something really good for your body!
Vegan Broth – Filtered water, kale, sea vegetables, carrot, celery, onions, turmeric, garlic, coconut oil, pink Himalayan salt
I chose Prana for lunch because it brings in a delicious savoury flavour and because it’s heated up and served in a bowl it feels like you’re sitting down for a meal. I also chose Prana as a broth rather than a heavier soup or dahl because I wanted to keep the cleanse really light still.
Courage (Mid Afternoon)
Juice – Orange, carrot, lemon, ginger, turmeric
I can often have a bit of an energy slump in the afternoon so I chose Courage as a mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Plus it is my favourite juice flavour so I had to include it somewhere!
Soup – Broccoli, Zucchini, Fennel, Leek, Kale, Celery, Baby Spinach, Onion, Garlic, Coriander, Parsley, Himalayan Salt, Black Pepper, Coconut Oil, Lemon Juice, Filtered Water
Gaia is our green detox soup, so this seemed like the perfect fit for my spring cleanse. Gaia is still quite light and fresh for a soup, but it is packed full of blended veggies to also add a bit of extra sustenance.
Our custom cleanse gives you the flexibility to detox your way – choosing exactly which elixirs you would like to detox with each day.
Miriam created Sol Cleanse in 2012 with a deep passion for health and wellbeing. Her insight led her to launch the first cold-pressed juice company in the region, and began delivering organic juice cleanses to the Gold Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay and the Sunshine Coast. Miriam brings a long history of all things organic and holistic wellbeing from an “alternative” childhood (her mother is a nutritionist) full of organic produce, yoga, legumes, and kombucha … way before it was trendy! This love has evolved into creating Sol Cleanse. With a background in holistic health, a degree in psychology, and as a qualified health coach, Miriam is fulfilled by supporting people as they connect with real whole foods, and to themselves on a deeper level as they cleanse.
