Golden Turmeric, Pumpkin and Pear Smoothie

Start your morning with this Autumn inspired liquid gold ✨

Our Golden Turmeric, Pumpkin and Pear smoothie ticks all the balanced breakfast boxes and is a delicious way to sneak extra vegetables for our sweet breakfast lovers.  The addition of grounding spices turmeric and cinnamon give this smoothie anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and blood glucose stabilising properties.

Time: 5 minutes
Serves: 1 serving

 

Ingredients

½ cup of roasted pumpkin (leftovers from the fridge or freezer)
½ pear
1 Medjool date pitted
1 cup plant milk of choice
1 serve vanilla protein powder
1 teaspoon of almond butter
½ teaspoon turmeric
½ teaspoon cinnamon 
Optional extra ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
Optional ice

 

Method

  1. Roast pumpkin chunks at 180 degrees C for 25-35 minutes until golden and soft on the inside when checked with a knife. Store roasted pumpkin in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 1 week or the freezer for up to 3 months.
  2. Combine all ingredients in a blender on high until smooth, serve into your favourite smoothie vessel and enjoy with an extra sprinkling of cinnamon.

Notes:

  • We’ve used leftover cooked and cooled roasted pumpkin in this recipe however you could also use an unsweetened pumpkin puree in a can if this is more available to you.
  • Our Turmeric Latte can be used as a turmeric replacement if your spice cupboard is looking bare.
